TIPS ON HOW CREATE A GREAT PARTY
It’s not as easy as it looks to create a great party. So we’ve compiled useful tips to help you to create that perfect party that you and your friends will remember for the right reasons for a very long time.
1) Create a warm inviting vibe:
Making sure it’s dark enough when the disco starts, if it’s too bright your event can feel more like a hospital waiting room.
2) Have a small dance floor:
People will always find somewhere to dance, but a large dance floor can be off putting. Some venues will clear too many tables and make a room feel empty and soulless.
3) Getting the wrong DJ can ruin your party:
Do your research, check out reviews, style. Most people are on a budget but do you really want to scrimp on the area that can really make or break your event?
4) Don’t spread your event out too much:
With multiple rooms you can feel the urge to want to use every space. Hence you might have food in one room, DJ in another, Magic Mirror in another. As a result, guests can start to feel thin on the ground. For a party to happen people need to be together.
5) Choosing the right venue:
We’ve all been to many parties where the organisers have picked a venue that it way too large for the numbers attending. As a result the party never reaches a critical mass to get an atmosphere.
6) Don’t break up the momentum:
Ideally once the DJ is into the swing of things try not to keep stopping the party for interludes that take out the energy, raffles, more speeches etc.
7) Ensure tables for seated guests are close to dance floor:
There’s nothing more off putting than a long walk to the dance floor.
8) Having a playlist that is too niched can be a challenge:
Especially if your tastes are not mainstream. Give the DJ a little wriggle room to ensure all your guests feel welcome.
9) Supply dancing flip flops:
We’ve never to a wedding where they haven’t all been worn, they’re not expensive!
10) People won’t dance if it’s too cold.
11) Drop tables to put drinks glasses on near the dance floor:
This reduces the number of glasses spilt or smashed on the dance floor. Less mopping interruptions. Less Yellow slip hazard signs. Less trips to A&E.
12) If you want people in the room to dance be in the room.
13) Feed your DJ he’ll be much happier 🙂
Booking a great DJ is also critical to creating a great party.
